Old Cathedral. Building built on land belonging to the Benedictine Monastery of Castro de Avelãs and destined to the convent of Claras nuns, it would eventually be handed over to the priests of the Companhia de Jesus in 1562, where, in attached facilities, they founded a college. Today recovered for installation of the Municipal Cultural Center, Municipal Library, Conservatory of Music and Space Memory of the City. With the expulsion of the Order (1759), here was established (1766) the Diocesan Seminary which, in the late eighties, carries out important works of expansion.
