The Kaohsiung Metropolitan Park is almost at the northern tip of the City. Originally belonged to Taiwan Sugar's Cingpu Farm, the Park occupies approximately an area of 95 hectare, with around 35 hectare of it generally opened to the public.
Even though it is a man-made park, due to the cultivation of native plants and the implementation of ecological engineering methods, the park has soon attracted birds and insects to inhabit. The Kaohsiung Wild Bird Society frequently holds activities here. There are also facilities, such as the visitor service center, swimming pool, skating rink, baseball court, tennis court, basketball court, snack bar, and children's library. This is the best destination for holidays.
The sundial featuring a golden rooster on top of the main gate axis is the most significant landmark of the park. It is stylistic, it tells the time, and it can also be a perfect meeting place!
