In 2017 the renovated pedestrian zone was ceremoniously handed over to the people of Tauberbischofsheim. For three years, the construction work had cost residents and visitors sacrifices. Countless meters of cables, lines and ducts were buried underground. 215,780 stones were laid by hand on 9,035 square meters of paved area until the newly designed market square was finally finished.
