The fortress of Chlemoutsi or fortress of Killini (the way that is popular named) was built between 1220 to 1223. Built to protect the port town of Glarentza. It is located on a 200m high hilltop. The fortress can be seen from almost any place in Ilia Prefecture. From the top of the fortress you can also see the Islands of Zakinthos and Kefalonia.
