The Bastion of Saint Remy is the most important and known fortification of the city of Cagliari. Its name derives from Baron de Saint Remy who was a first viceroy of Piedmont. The fort was built in the late nineteenth century on the ancient city walls, to unify the higher Castle district with the underlying Villanova and Marina. A wide staircase leads over the ramparts, where you can enjoy a beautiful view over the city.
