渣滓洞集中营三面靠山，前临深沟，高墙外的制高点有岗亭六座，机枪阵地一处，常有国民党军一个连驻守。
内院墙上写“青春一去不复返，细细想想” 、“认明此时此地，切莫执迷”、“迷津无边，回头是岸”、“宁静忍耐，毋怨毋忧”等标语。
这里原是监狱前面的深沟，现在是参观的入口处。
