Villa Beatrice d'Este is located on Monte Gemola, in the center of the Euganean hills, on the remains of an ancient Benedictine monastery.

The villa takes its name from a Benedictine noblewoman and nun, Beatrice I d'Este, who lived in this place from 1221 to 1226. Daughter of the Marquis Azzo VI and his second wife Sofia of Savoy.
