Sheffield, View of Paradise Square

Here we are early on a Sunday morning in autumn. The buildings that surround us are "Georgian" the earliest being built in 1736. It was here in 1779 that the methodist minister John Wesley preached to "the largest congregation I ever saw on a weekday" (there is a plaque to John Wesley afixed to the buildings). During the week the square becomes a private car park.
