Samphire Hoe, Dover, Kent, England, UK

Your standing on soil dug from several hundred meters under the English Channel ! The spoil from digging the Chunnel, prior to this you would have been several metres underwater beneath Shakespeare Cliff.  It has now been converted into a an extra 30-hectares of England.

On the horizon you can see the French Coast 41Kms away (24 Miles).  A couple of Ferries at the mouth of Dover Harbour and several other vessels making there way along the Channel.  To the West is Folkstone.
