The monument to the dead soldier stands in the park of Rimembranze (Memories Park) which was inaugurated in 1923. It was built to honour the dead soldier of the First World War (1914-1918) and later those of the Second World War (1939-1945). The bronze scolptures depicting "an armed infantryman protecting the border of his homeland", the bas relief of the widows and the two laurel wreaths were made by the brescian sculptor Claudio Botta ( 1891-1958 ).
