Houton Bay Seaplane Station Ramps Two

During the First World War a seaplane station was built at Houton Bay. It was used to search for German submarines, and closed after the war. The beaching ramp in the foreground was broken up to recover structural steel during the Second World War. The ramp in the distance survived.  A modern ferry terminal and lodge now occupy the site.
