Reservior and Dam Sölkbach
Austria

The Sölktäler with their large basins and high annual weather cargoes demanded the construction of a hydroelectric power plant is particularly economical. At a geologically and by the terrain favorable point, a daily storage reservoir was built in Großsölktal Valley, which is completed by a 39 m high vaulted walls. The water level of the reservoir with a net capacity of Großsölk 1.5 million m3 located at the level of 901.8 m. In the storage is a 3.3 km long Beileitungs-pressure tunnel of the water Kleinsölkbaches and initiated by a 12 km long free-flow tunnel of Donnersbach and Walchenbach. The headrace guide is us the 5.1 km long headrace tunnel, the water tower and the 0.9 km long is poured penstock.

In force Hausenstein 1 machine unit is installed with vertical shaft and a maximum capacity of 61,000 kW. The equipment set consists of 1 Francis spiral turbine and synchronous generator 1.
