Cijin Seaside Park
Kaohsiung

In response to the unique geographic characteristics of Cijin, the Cijin Seaside Park was planned and developed by the Kaohsiung City Government.  Its design aims at the appreciation of the hydrology of the sea, and thus a walkway was installed that runs straight through the park.  The park spans approximately 3.5 km, occupying an area of 45 hectares.   With the walkway running through the entire park, it comes across a beach, a seascape viewing path, a cross-country area and a natural ecology area, exhibiting its multi-dimensional functions in sightseeing and recreation.

The tourist service center has the colors white, grey-blue and light blue intermingled together, naturally blending into the sky and the sea.  On the second floor is the largest seashell exhibition hall in Southeast Asia, contributed by Kaohsiung resident Huang, Ge-Liang, through his collection of many years.  On view are close to 2000 different kinds of seashell common to Taiwan, the largest collection of its kind within the country, making it well worth a visit.
Outside the plaza, the observatory extends from the coast to the sea; here, visitors can experience the crushing power of the tide, leaving them with a profound sense of awe.
