White Ladies Priory ruins, Shropshire
England

The Priory of St Leonard at Brewood is better known as White Ladies Priory after the medieval nuns that lived there. The Augustinian canonesses got their name from their habits of undyed cloth. The building was founded in the late 12th century and was one of the first monastic suites to be surpassed during the reformation in 1536.

Its claim to fame came in 1651 when the future King Charles II briefly took refuge there following his defeat at the Battle of Worcester.
