I ventured to the top of the sandy highpoint at Kelso Dunes in Mojave National Preserve on the morning of 7/3/2015. The trip to the top was certainly difficult, where one step up seemed to take another half back while the sand made its way back downhill. The descent was perfectly pleasant however, despite the increasing temperatures during this desolate desert summer.
