Jiufen's Sheng Ming Temple is the center of faith for the Jiufen region. Located on Lunding Rd., it overlooks the most bustling areas of Jiufen. The origins of the temple can be traced back to around 1880, where settlers worshipped Guan Yu as the patron God of frontiers during development of Danshui and northern Taiwan.
