The Heard Museum was founded by Dwight and Marie Bartlett Heard in 1929 as a small museum dedicated to present the art, history and culture of native American Indians, especially those of the Southwest USA. From its small beginnings it has grown in size and scope and is now internationally recognized for its collections and educational programmes.
