It was erected in the late twelfth or early thirteenth century as a building of a single nave with steeple and topped by a semicircular apse.

He has subsequently been largely reformed in the sixteenth century, adding a square tower, two more naves and the sacristy.

View from the south wall that was moved outward with the door in the expansion of naves made in the sixteenth century.
Until very recently was covered with a porch that was removed in the final restoration.
