This staircase leading to the first floor of the building, designed by Gustavo Adolfpho Gonçalves e Sousa, is engraved in the visitor's memory. Decorative granite details, such as flower garlands, Corinthian capitals and fluted pilasters, among others, are some of the endless details of this space. The two chandeliers here, by Soares dos Reis, are a reminder that this building was one of the first in the city of Porto to be electrified.
