A very well known cultural characteristic of the Basque Country is the existence of verse improvisers.
Once in four years their championship takes place.
This year the championship has been going on for some months and on December 16th the final session took place in Barakaldo.
Around 15.000 people spent the 9 hours that took to decide whom of the 8 finalists would be the champion for the next 4 years.
This time Amets Arzallus was the winner.
