Užupis Art Incubator (UMI) is an outstanding cultural structure, that exists on the bank of Vilnele river. It's activities could be carried out not by the members alone - it's open to a society as well. UMI is well known because of the "GALERA" gallery and the exhibitions of diverse stylistics, unusual wallpainting on it's headquarter building that is interrelated with the sculptural space of the river bank as well as festivals, concerts, and artists workshops. UMI it is an incubator by all means of the word. Artistic communal and cultural ideas of young people who are still in search and have something to express is born and developed here. Different shore and "harbor" attracts the souls that care about creative magic and beauty of environment.

Public office UMI was established in 2002m. by two creating members:
Alternative Art Center (AMC established in 1996) and the Culture and Arts department of Vilnius City government.
Most important AMC and UMI activities were:
1995 "Fashion corrida in the old town"
1996 "Bosh in Lithuania"
1997-1999 annual alternative fashion show "arMADA"
2000 creation of the sculpture alley
2001 travelling exhibition-project "Užupis for Overseas"
2000-2004 "UŽ-UPI-ART"
2001 famous artists from Vilnius exhibition "Grands in the Gallery"
2004 artists workshop " River- otherworld" 
2004-2005 artists workshop + " Mystery of Użupis " 
2005 preventive art project, supported by Vilnius City Hall 
" Użupis Art River Bank", " The Art River Bank for street children".
