Kota or Old Jakarta, also known as Old Batavia is a small area in Jakarta which retains its Dutch character. Batavia, because of its location, was the centre of commerce for the continent. The area is now a heritage site. Many of the building are in need of repair. Bicycles taxi riders wait for their next customer.
